how long do blenders last?

How Long Do Blenders Last? Short Guide

Is there really a way to answer the question how long do blenders last with absolute certainty? Obviously not, we can’t do that for any appliance.

We can only estimate how long blenders might last. Personally, I would say that blenders last on average between 3 to 10 years.

Of course, you can end up using a blender for a lot longer than 10 years or you could end up using it for only a few months until something is wrong with it.

In the end, we can’t be totally sure how long our blender will last.

It’s also a matter of luck, maybe. Some have problems with their appliances from the moment they use them for the first time. Others continue using them daily without any problems for many years to come.

That’s a general way of expecting things to happen, it doesn’t only apply to blenders or to kitchen appliances.

How Long Do Blenders Last? Blenders Warranty

blender lifespan
The warranty period we get for blenders varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Even manufacturers can offer a different warranty period for their line of products so you shouldn’t assume that all blenders come with a 1-year warranty.

The easiest way to understand how products differ from each other, I want to give as examples some concrete models. Let’s take as examples some of the best blenders on the market.

Hamilton Beach blenders

For example, Hamilton Beach Blender to Puree 58148A includes a 1-year warranty. This is one of the cheapest countertop blenders that we could buy with a price around $50.

Nevertheless, even though it’s cheap, it’s also a pretty great model and very versatile. I recommended it as one of the best blenders for puree food and much more.

On the other hand, the Hamilton Beach Premium Quiet Blender 53601 comes with a 5-year warranty if it’s purchased in Canada and a 3-year warranty if it’s purchased in the US.

It’s also about 2 times more expensive than the cheap Hamilton Beach Blender to Puree.

Nutribullet blenders

For the nutribullet 600, which is one of my favorites, we get a 1-year warranty. I love this model.

Even though it’s a small personal blender with a 600 watts motor, it’s also versatile and powerful. I even recommended it as one of the best blenders for flour. And for grinding spices.

From all the nutribullet blenders, the original 600 is my favorite because it’s a perfect choice for people who have a budget under $100 and are looking for a blender that can last a long time.

How long does the nutribullet last? I think it has the real chance to last well beyond the 1 year warranty. I would say that it can last well over 5 years.

Ninja blenders

I love Ninja blenders, whether we’re talking about their many countertop models or their personal blenders. I trust this manufacturer and I am truly impressed by some of their blender systems.

One of my top favorites is the Ninja SS351. It’s a blender that offers so much for its price. It’s a delight. It’s not cheap but the price around $200 is totally worth it.

Whether we’re talking about making hummus, chopping raw vegetables, making delicious smoothies, creamy soups, salsa, smoothie bowls, making dough for bread, pizza, desserts, blending frozen fruits, and so much more, this complex blender system can do it all.

It only comes with a 1-year warranty, which is pretty much the case for Ninja blenders, but I have the faith that it can last for many years to come.

Vitamix blenders

Can we talk about how long blenders last without mentioning Vitamix?

In my mind, Vitamix is for blenders what KitchenAid is for stand mixers. High prices but also a belief that we’re getting top of the line products.

I don’t dispute that Vitamix is a fantastic manufacturer. I love their models. They’re powerful, they’re easy to use and their blenders can really do everything we might think of.

They also have a fantastic cookbook for blenders, which truly shows just how versatile blenders are.

Another thing for which Vitamix stands out is that their blenders come with long warranty periods.

Their Vitamix E310 Explorian is one of my favorites because it’s a bit cheaper than other Vitamix. It comes with a 5-year warranty, which is impressive.

On the other hand, Vitamix 5200, which is considerably more expensive than the Explorian comes with a 7-year warranty.

Even their 4-Piece Deluxe Immersion Blender Bundle comes with a 3-year warranty. I also believe that it’s the most expensive immersion blender on the market.

Breville blenders

The Breville Super Q has an 1,800 watts motor base. That makes it pretty much the most powerful blender outside professional blenders.

It’s an impressive machine, both in terms of how expensive it is and in terms of what it offers.

It’s also described as being a super quiet blender, which is amazing given just how powerful it is. Breville is a manufacturer that usually manages to stand out and the Super Q is another example for that.

I talked about standing out and let me reinforce that belief.

The Breville Super Q includes a 10-year warranty.

That’s another reason for believing that blenders can last a very long time. I believe that for expensive models but I also think that it can be the case for cheaper appliances, too.

Tribest Dynapro Blender

This is a blender that offers an incredible 15-year warranty. That’s unbelievable.

It’s also an expensive appliance but a very powerful one that makes juice from raw carrots without any problems. Obviously, it’s a model that is capable of doing anything we want.

How to make blenders last longer

The first thing you should do is to read the instruction manual that comes with your blender. You’ll find all the info you need about how to treat your blender to last longer.

As long as the motor base holds, that’s how long blenders last. Other parts can be replaced, like the blades and the jars and other various accessories.

An important thing about blenders is not to fill them more than ¾ of their size.

Overloading will put strain on the motor and that’s exactly what we should avoid if we want to keep a blender fully functional for 3, 5, 10 years or maybe even longer.

Thus, make sure not to overload your blender’s motor. If you have bigger quantities to blend, just do multiple sessions to avoid overloading.

Some blenders will come with a few recipes.

From those recipes, you can totally tell how you should add the ingredients to the pitcher, the quantity of ingredients you should add, which speeds you should use, etc.

All the info you need will be delivered with the blender, you just have to take the time to read it.

However, there’s also that thing that most of us end up saying: things aren’t made like they used to be. For me, that’s not only a saying that we throw around. It’s the truth.

Thus, I have pretty low expectations, even when I splurge on some appliances. Still, I believe that most blenders truly can go a long time before breaking down.

In the end, my final answer to the question how long do blenders last is 3 to 10 years and I hope that’s the case for all of us.
